Some of us like to have a little\nvolume in our hair.  Maybe not Texas\nPageant, or Jersey Shore (those have run their course) but a little volume can\nbe nice.  Have you been trying to get\nvolume in your hair and it just keeps falling flat?  Have you considered\nhot rollers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know, the term hot rollers immediately\nbrings to mind little old ladies, outdated mothers and BIG hair.  But believe me, they do have their\nuses.  A good set of hot rollers will give you amazing volume that will\nlast all day.  And even if you aren\u2019t\ngoing for big hair, or Victoria Secret bed head, you might want to check them\nout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite brand of hot rollers are\nthe Remington T-Studio.  You can find them at Target of all places for\nunder $50 and they will last forever.  I\u2019ve had my set for 10 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whichever brand you choose to invest\nin, try to find ones that are ceramic covered in velvet.  You also want to\nmake sure that the clamps are lined with Ceramic as well.  This will\ninsure that the ceramic will radiate the heat out, hit the ceramic plates on\nthe clamps holding the rollers and go straight back into the hair guaranteeing\na large curl that will last all day with minimal product. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hot Roller How To:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1.  Section out your bangs and\/or the front\nportion of your hair around your face. \nIf you don\u2019t you\u2019re going to look a little crazy.<\/li>
  2. Second take a section at the front\nof your head, just behind where you have sectioned out your bangs, at the top\nof your head maybe 1-1 \u00bd inches wide.  Pull it straight up and comb out\nany tangles.  You may at this time choose\nto add a touch of hair spray to the backside of the section, but only if you\nwant to lock in a curl that will stay very TIGHT.  If you are just going for volume skip the\nhair spray.<\/li>
  3. Take your first hot roller, be\ncareful not to burn your fingertips as these bad boys get really, REALLY hot. \nSlide the curler up from the base of the section of hair from the backside. \nThis will help smooth any flyaway hairs up into the section.  Once the\nroller reaches the top of the section, roll it backwards away from your\nface.  Roll it down until it is sitting on the top of your head\nvertically.  Do not let it slump towards\nthe back as this will not give you good lift and volume. Apply the clamp.<\/li>
  4. Work your way back along your crown,\nrepeating this step. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    NOTE: <\/strong>If you just desire\nthe top of your head to have volume and don\u2019t want to have big Victoria Secret\ncurls (this isn\u2019t the 2000\u2019s!), just do the crown of your head.  What you\nwant to have is a Mohawk of hot rollers down the very center of your head. \nThis is going to give you amazing volume to your hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Once you have rolled the last of the\nhair in your \u201cMohawk\u201d let them sit until they are cool to the touch. \nRemove them and run your fingers through them.<\/li>
    • Once removed your hair will have\namazing volume along your crown, you can add a little back combing if you want\nand just style however you like.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      And that is Hot Rollers 101!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
