Our Face Book fan Kimela S. had a very good question: Why does my nail polish bubble when I put it on??? I don\u2019t shake it up.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the answer:<\/p>\n

Nail Polish can develop bubbles in the coat for several reasons, age, product, residue on actual nail, etc., here are a few tips to keep your nails bubble free:<\/p>\n

  1. Use fresh polish.\u00a0 Any nail polish over a year old is more prone to produce bubbles.<\/li>\n
  2. Don\u2019t shake the bottle.\u00a0 Shaking it produces bubbles, instead roll the bottle between your palms to mix it.<\/li>\n
  3. Avoid thick coats.\u00a0 Instead apply multiple thin layers of polish to achieve the desired coverage.\u00a0 Thick layers can be hiding small air pockets and some brands have additional drying agents added to them to help speed up the drying process.\u00a0 These can create bubbles in thick layers of polish as they are trying to dry it fast.<\/li>\n
  4. Clean the applicator.\u00a0 Some times the bristles in the applicator can trap air bubbles and thus pass them into the polish on your nail.\u00a0 Try cleaning your applicator on occasion.\u00a0 Use Acetone or Nail Polish Remover to clean it.\u00a0 That should reduce bubbles.<\/li>\n
  5. Clean Nails.\u00a0 Make sure your nails are clean.\u00a0 Sometimes applying polish directly after you have buffed or filed them can cause that debris to stick to your nail and contaminate your polish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
